Unveiled Racism

So, I guess since its Election Day, the anti-Obama-because-he’s-black people in the office aren’t even trying to mask their racism.  Some notable quotes:

It looks like we’re gonna have a bootlip in the White House.

And my personal favorite:

How are you gonna get 1 black guy to run the White House when you can’t get 10 black guys to run White Castle?

So yeah, its pretty damn blatant now, and I almost regret not calling these fucks out on what I’ve long perceived as their anti-Obama-because-he’s-black stance.

Another notable conversation occurred yesterday between two anti-Obama-because-he’s-black co-workers, where they were railing on Obama because of his apparent love of Socialism.  Ignoring for a second that they both support McCain, who also practices socialism, its sad when the best they can do is use the Flavor of the Month attack on Obama.  And one of the guys is an immigrant from the Ukraine, who I’m pretty sure arrived here after 1913, which is when the US began practicing elements of Socialism.  So, if he despises Socialism so much (he doesn’t – he despises black people, by the way), why the fuck is he here?  Get the fuck out already.  We’ve got enough of our own racists to deal with.

Thankfully, this will all be over in a matter of days.  Sort of.

Racism FTW?

Early voting has begun, and already we’re seeing some ugly acts of racism.  Whether its heckling black voters and slashing their tires, or good ol’ fashioned death threats over yard signs, its clear that we’re in for one helluva ride.

Not that I give racial asshats any intellectual credit at all, but what is their thinking exactly?  Do they think that, at this point in history, with the first viable major party black Presidential candidate, that such racial attacks are going to do anything but solidify the resolve of these voters?  Now, I’m not black (though I spent some time in my youth pretending to be, but that’s another story), but I can imagine that if I were getting heckled by some white piece of shit redneck, I would not be frightened in the least.  Rather, my resolve would be strengthened immensely.

We’re talking about people that know first and second hand what it feels like to be an outcast because of skin color.  We’re talking about people that know first and second hand what it feels like to not have the “privilege” to vote.  We’re talking about people that know first and second hand what its like to see friends and family willingly give their lives for equality.  Do these fucktards think that a pathetic letter is going to keep black people home on November 4th?  Really?  Do they think that their threats aren’t going to pale in comparison with what they’ve been through in their lives?

Its incredible, and incredibly embarrassing, that we live in a Country where such mindless people are allowed to breed.  I am grateful, though, to be alive at a time where things are changing.  Improving.  Growing.  Its not going to be easy – great things never are.  But its a necessary step toward the World that the enlightened among us know exists, just around that next bend.  Can we make it there?

Yes, we can.

Obama Rally Draws 100,000 in Missouri

Joe the Moron

Joe the Plumber?  No, more like Joe the Moron.  From ABCNews.com

ABC News’ Chris Bury is outside Toledo, near the home of Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, aka "Joe the Plumber," and reports that Wurzelbacher — such a key part of Sen. John McCain’s critique of Sen. Barack Obama’s economic proposals — acknowledged that he wants to purchase the plumbing business for $250-280,000, not that he would net that much in profits.

He would make much less, he said.

Which would seem to indicate that he would be eligible for an Obama tax cut, not that he would be subject to the tax increase from 36% to 39% Obama would impose on those making more than $200,000 per person, or $250,000 per family.

To be fair, he says he’s concerned that if he were to make over $250,000 he would be in a higher tax bracket.  Fine, but you’re still a moron, Joe.

How does Joe propose he grow his business in this economic climate?  And even if he were in the higher bracket already, who exactly is going to be able to afford to hire you in this economy?

Here’s the thing – these “small” business owners, who are making $250,000 and up, are typically reliant on those of us in the middle class and below.  That is, when we have extra money, we spend it as patrons of their services.  So really, progressive tax systems simply force the “circle of money”, so to speak.  If the middle and low classes have no money to spend, how are these small businesses supposed to survive?

Thoughts for Thursday

  • Thank you Jeebus that the debates are finally over.  Getting to sleep at 11, when you have to wake up before 5, is fun like herpes.
  • The pro-McCain people at the office are amusing.  Rather than engage others, they’ve resorted to a sort of support group, where they get together in the morning and make fun of Obama.  Hey, it beats talking about the issues, when you’re supporting a candidate who doesn’t give a shit about said issues.
  • Getting through today without drinking massive amounts of coffee would be an accomplishment that would make getting to the moon seem elementary by comparison.
  • Is it Friday yet?

Embarrassed to be Human

Can you believe this shit?

A new father has secretly named his baby girl Sarah McCain Palin after the Republican ticket for president and vice president.

Mark Ciptak of Elizabethton put that name on the documents for the girl’s birth certificate, ignoring the name Ava Grace, which he and his wife had picked earlier.

“I don’t think she believes me yet,” he told the Kingsport Times-News for a story to be published Tuesday. “It’s going to take some more convincing.”

You self-centered ignorant piece of shit.  I hope your child grows up to kill you for raping her like this.
